Jenna Has a New Title

Jenna recently successfully competed in her Endurance test to gain the title CH Hotlee Rodeo Drive ET. While the weather wasn't the best on the day the worst of the rain came during our breaks. The 20km ended being quiet an enjoyable bikeride and Jenna with her typical Aussie gait had no problelms doing the distance. Plans are now afoot for my sister and I to get her pair of Aussies their ET titles at the next Endurance test, unless one of them is in heat.

Jenna also recently gained the first leg of her Canine Freestyle starters (Dancing with Dogs) but unfortunately missed out on her second leg that would have given her another title as she did not want to perform. Our next chance is the Perth Royal show but I'm not sure that she would handle the distractions there enough to compete sucessfully. Also as she will be doing Agility, Jumping and Conformation there, another day spent at the show might be just a little too much for both of us.

We recently went and had a play with the sheep and I am keen to give this some more attention and hopefully if we can fit in some lessons we can perhaps add a herding title somewhere along the line.

We went to a lovely dog play area on the weekend at Whitmans Park and Jenna and Gizmo(13yr old Papillon)  had a great time mixing with the many friendly dogs there. I wish more councils would adopt this idea for dog parks as it was so good for teaching dogs socialisation skills. With  two and a half hectres of fenced off area with a double safety gate, lots of shade, seating for owners, and a water trough that got alot of use as a pool dogs played happily with their families and met up with other dogs sharing games on occassion. With probabaly 40 dogs of all shapes and sizes it was wonderful to watch them all getting on. Although it is quite a drive for us we will definaitly be visiting this park again whenever we can.

As Jenna has not come back into heat early after her silent season plans have been put on hold for her next litter till next year so that she can still be involved in  the Royal Show which is her favorite as she gets to meet lots of people who give her pats.

Update

Well plans for the litter have been slightly delayed due to Jenna having a silent season, so the deciding factor will now be when she will next come in to heat. I don't like the idea of having pups available around Christmas as I want new owners to be getting a pup because of an informed choice rather than an Xmas present. Plus we have alot of trialling planned so the litter will depend on whether she comes back into heat early and if I'm willing to pull her out of trialing at that time for maternal duties.
I'm keen to get a pup from her myself so this will certainly mean that maternal duties will have to be factored into our scedule.
Tomorrow and Saturday she is involved in the State Agility trials with my friend Serena running her so I'm hoping that she will do well. Serena got her first Agility leg a few weeks ago and almost got her the first jumping leg but Jenna blew the last jump. Jenna is running so much better for Serena as she is all the things that I'm not, fast, calm, knows the best way to do the course  and remembers the course better than I.
I enjoy doing the home training and then watching her run the course with Serena as I don't want to hold her back from being the best she can be.  To get her AD title and her JD title she needs three legs of each which is three clear rounds of each within the specified time for the course, with at least 2 different judges.

STOP PRESSS

Plans are in progress for a litter for mid 2009. After I have taken my pick of the pups the rest will be available to approved homes. Most pups will be sold on limited register and a spay/neuter contract but I will consider main registering pups that show great potential, (conditions apply). All pups will be eye tested, microchipped, wormed and vaccinaited before going to their new homes. Parents will both have current eye clearances and be hip/elbow scored.

If you are interested in a pup please get your name on the list as soon as possiable to avoid disappointment.

A booking fee applies to verify your genuine interest and pups will be offered in order of booking. Any booking fee will be applyed to the cost of the pup purchased. While expressions of interest will be taken on a particular pup, final decisions on what pups are available won't be made until they are assessed at eight weeks.   Please be aware that I can not guarentee a particular sex, colour or tail length and booking fee will only be refunded if I have insufficient pups available to fill all orders or if for any reason I refuse the sale of a pup.
SORRY, NO PUPS ARE AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.

Geraldton May o8

Last weekend we made the journey up to Geraldton for two days of showing, obedience and camping. In the showing Jenna took reserve challange and runnerup best of breed on the Saturaday, being beaten by my sisters homebred bitch who gained her Championship title with the win. On the Sunday Jenna took the challange and best of breed as well as statebred in group. Unfortunately we were not so successful with the obedience, Jenna was in a good position to get her first qualifier on the Sunday but decided on the last exercise, the drop stay that she just had to have a quick roll in the grass. Oh well, on to the next trial and hopefullly success.

While in Geraldton, Helen who owns Jenna's daughter Casey (Bronte),was good enough to bring her to the show so that we could catch up. Check out the photos of this beautiful girl, she is shaping up nicely and looks so like her dad with those beautiful markings. She has a lovely temperment to match those looks and is very much loved by her owners, although I hear she has been giving an unwanted hand with the gardening. Sorry John, I'm sure she thinks she's being a great help. Helen was able to meet Brooklyn, Casey's dad as he was also up in Geraldton for the agility and obedience after recovering from a foot injury. He enjoyed meeting his daughter and was a real wiggleebutt around her.

Aussie Beach Babes

On the easter weekend as there was no dogshows on, my sister and I took our Aussies to the beach. They all had a ball as you can see by the photos on the video. Nothing like getting all wet and dirty, much more fun than sprucing up for a dog show. We were lucky enough to have most of the beach to ourselves and needless to say, we left no trace of our dogs behind to upset anyone. Hope you enjoy the Aussie Beach Babes.
